Detailed description: PINUP | Balance represents an early but decisive exploration of structure and gesture within Santi Flores's sculptural language.

Constructed from metal and steel, the figure stands in a dynamic V-shaped pose, with its arms fully extended upwards in a gesture suggesting elevation, openness, and expansion. Unlike solid, volumetric sculptures, this work is built using a latticed structure, allowing light to pass through its body and transform the sculpture into a spatial drawing.

The open structure dissolves mass into line. The figure becomes both presence and absence, defined by structure rather than surface. This transparency introduces movement as shadows shift and project onto the surrounding space.

The extension of the two arms creates tension and balance simultaneously. One arm remains vertical, while the other slants diagonally, reinforcing the dynamism and upward momentum. The base grounds the composition, anchoring the expressive verticality.

Created in 2014, this piece reveals the foundations of Flores's later work: the simplified human form, architectural gesture, and the transformation of industrial material into symbolic presence.

It is not simply a figure: it is a structural affirmation of expansion.
